The ABC's of home exercise... What can we use to keep active at home?  Nowadays it has never been easier to exercise from home. The only problem is that many of us can't recognise the potential we have laying around us for some serious conditioning sessions.  So check out the first part of my list of useful exercises you can do with every day objects below. Chair: The Chair Dip:  Simply place your hands along the edge of the chair and stick your two feet out in front of you with only your heels touching the floor..  Slowly lower your body down in front of the chair. Once you have gone as far as you can go, push yourself back up with your hands.                                       To make this easier, bring your feet closer to you and have them flat on the ground. Chair Push-ups: Start by kneeling down on all fours in front of a c...

How Physical Activity Can Create A Happier YOU Ever wondered if the solution to your problems might be sit-ups? If that pain in your back could be gotten rid of with some stretching? Or have you ever wondered if this dark place you currently find yourself in, could be lit up by some walking?  If yes, then you are on the right track to overcoming your problems. If not, then I would like to extend an invitation to you to read the following blog and gain a better understanding of how Physical Activity (PA) can help YOU.  Either way, what harm is it to learn something new from someone who's experienced all of these issues in some way or another? The cold hard facts : All over the world young children, adolescents and adults are failing to meet the daily recommended PA levels. (World Health Organisation) As a result, there is an ever increasing number of people who are becoming obese and developing non-communicable disease's (NCD's) such as diabetes, heart ...

"The Shift" : Are you ready?

"The Shift" : Are you ready?                 Strip back your very identity and challenge yourself to create a happier healthier you. Rattling, thought provoking, educational and an extremely humbling experience. Words can't begin to describe the feelings I have right now. But I'll try. Dr. Wayne Dyer speaks about ego, both yours and mine, in a way that I had never heard before. He strips back our very nature and habitual tendencies in order to expose the impurity that is the ego. He says it takes hold of our lives from the day we are born and manifests itself into what can only be described as an unwelcome soulmate. This soulmate is responsible for a number of things like the emotions we feel when we long for those new shoes or that brand new sports car. It's telling us we are valued by what we own and possess rather than what we should be grateful for. It makes us think twice before going out wearing the same dress again or speak...

Why do we need to be physically active?

Image
Welcome, Bienvenidos, Salut, Hola, Fáilte Why do we need to be physically active? As straight forward a question as this may seem, the majority of people nowadays can produce an answer somewhere along the lines of "it's good for you". A good start no doubt, but shouldn't we all be able to identify how, in what amount and when it's good for you?  If like me you think we should, then I invite you to learn at least one thing from todays blog.  The importance of physical activity (PA): PA is the cheapest type of preventative medicine we can find. It's true!!! PA can literally save your life. According to the World Health Organisation , approximately 3.2 million deaths each year are caused by physical in activity. That means that a lack of exercise and probably a host of other things such as bad diet, health conditions etc... (which are created by not exercising) literally killed all these people. To put that into context for you, that is like the...

Why I started....Greater things to come.

Why I started this journey. 07/03/2019 For years now I've been going along with what everyone considers the norm and I've found myself to be yearning for more. It's not only a desire to achieve more or earn more, but a desire to become more and to create a life for myself and those that I care about so much. This is my first step on that process and I hope that by exposing these feelings to the world that I can finally take the steps necessary to follow in so many other peoples', in chasing my dreams and passions. What's this all about? With this new blog I hope to create a resource of information that mothers, fathers, brothers, sisters, teachers, builders etc.. can follow for basic insights and informed  research based opinions.  In doing so, I hope to spread some of the wonderful things I have learned throughout my time in school, college and work.  The primary focus will be on Physical Activity and the importance it plays in our everyday live...
